UNDER THE LISTENING SKY

the land teaches slowly.
Its power is gentle, but sure, offering its lessons to those who take the time to see and feel.
Here, the trees hold silence like a ceremony,
and the horses speak without words.

This is a sanctuary for those who have carried too much for too long.

A place to return to the rhythms of breath, body, and earth.

You do not have to earn your place here.
You already belong.

Our equine-guided and return-to-nature experiences are custom-designed for groups of

two or more, offering intimate, soul-centered immersion in the healing field of horses, land,

and presence. Single sessions are welcome, too. Each journey is uniquely crafted by seasoned guides trained in a range of psychological, spiritual, and somatic modalities — including trauma-informed care, depth psychology, and earth-based practices.

ALIGNING WITH NATURE

A foundational return to body, rhythm, and belonging

Overview
The Listening Sky’s equine-guided arrival program is designed as a soft landing—an entry point for those beginning the journey of reconnection. This immersive experience lays the groundwork for deeper equine work by attuning participants to the natural field: the rhythm of the land, the quiet of the trees, the mirroring presence of the horses, and the intelligence of the body.

Participants are not asked to perform, achieve, or process anything in a linear way. Instead, they are invited to slow down, observe, listen, and feel. The body becomes a compass again. Nature becomes a collaborator. And the nervous system—so often braced for danger—begins to release its grip.

Overview

This immersion offers participants a deeper relationship with horses, land, and self. We explore foundational principles of equine-guided healing while honoring the intuitive, body-based way that transformation truly occurs. Participants are introduced to somatic awareness, boundary attunement, and energetic sensitivity as they engage in relational groundwork with horses. This is where nervous systems begin to co-regulate, communication quiets into presence, and the field between beings becomes the teacher. Ideal for those who  who already carry sensitivity and openness to the more-than-verbal language of animals.

This 3-day experience is designed for those who are ready to live the teachings. Integration weaves the nature-based embodiment practices from Return to Resonance  with the relational horsemanship and energy field work of Tending the Field. The final day culminates in The Path and the Trail, a guided walk with horses along our medicine trail—through pine groves, madrone trees, and sacred earth. Each participant also receives personalized support from our team of seasoned practitioners, which may include equine-assisted psychotherapy, Vedic astrology readings, somatic coaching, dreamwork, or plant medicine integration. Group size is intentionally limited to deepen the field

Return to Resonance
A 2 DAY RETREAT

A 2-Day Immersion at The Listening Sky Sanctuary
Level 1: Aligning with Nature, Reawakening the Senses

Return to Resonance is a two-day immersive experience crafted for those in transition — individuals healing from trauma, seekers navigating spiritual thresholds, or simply those longing to reconnect with their own bodies through the intelligence of nature.

This is not therapy in the clinical sense. Nor is it a retreat filled with distractions. It is a remembering field. Here, the body is invited back into rhythm with the land. The nervous system softens. And the stories that have been held in silence — in the fascia, the breath, the gaze — begin to move.

Rooted in equine wisdom, elemental healing, sound medicine, and somatic presence, this experience forms the first level of programming at The Listening Sky Sanctuary: a foundation for all that comes after.

Day One: The Listening Body

You arrive to the soft scent of pine resin and warm earth, greeted not by hustle, but by breath. This is a day of arriving — into the land, the senses, and the inner field.

✦ Morning | Opening the Senses

  • A welcome tea ceremony with tulsi, rose, and lemon balm opens the heart and clears travel static.

  • Under the rustle of madrone branches, Nature Yoga begins — a movement practice led not by instruction, but by wind, birdcall, and breath.

  • In the pine grove, a Sound Bath of crystal bowls, chimes, and steel drum attunes the body's internal waters to the frequency of rest.

✦ Midday Meal | Ayurvedic Earth Bowl

  • A grounding meal of warm kitchari infused with turmeric and cumin

  • Sautéed seasonal greens with ginger and sesame

  • Mint-cilantro chutney for digestive awakening

  • Nettle and lemon infusion for lymphatic clarity

✦ Afternoon | Trail & Horse Encounter

  • A Medicine Trail walk through forest paths — barefoot optional — invites the nervous system into resonance with soil and stone

  • Participants are anointed with juniper or cedar hydrosol before entering the horse field

  • In a contained and sacred space, Equine-Assisted Awakening begins: a somatic presence practice using the horse as guide, mirror, and boundary teacher

  • Each guest may take a Medicine Walk with a Horse — not for control, but for deep listening

✦ Evening Meal | Digestive Simplicity

  • Mung bean and carrot soup with cumin and black pepper

  • Soft basmati rice with fennel and ghee

  • Steamed squash with mineral salt

  • Lemon balm and skullcap tea to soothe and settle

Nightfall | Under the Listening Sky

As darkness falls, the sanctuary shifts into its most sacred register — silence thick with stars, the soft rustle of wind through pine needles, and a fire gently lit beneath the open sky.

We gather in a circle near the Listening Stone, where the elements of the day begin to echo back as memory and song. Some sit in quiet, others offer a verse or hum. A guitar chord drifts, perhaps a drum pulse rises, or maybe the night remains wrapped in the hush between flames.

Overhead, the stars begin to call — and we listen.

A brief, intuitive introduction to Vedic astrology orients us to the celestial field: the nakshatras above, the moon’s current path, and how these ancient sky-maps still speak to the inner world. You are not analyzed here, but invited — into conversation with cosmos.

To seal the night and soothe the nervous system, we offer a warm golden milk nightcap infused with:

  • Cardamom for the heart

  • Ashwagandha for grounding

  • Saffron for mood and spirit

  • Nutmeg and ghee for deep, easeful sleep

  •

A few drops of blue vervain, spikenard, or jatamansi tincture are available for those seeking dream clarity or inner quiet.

You are free to stay by the fire, slip into your tent, or wander just far enough to lie beneath the stars in quiet wonder. This night is not an activity — it’s a field of remembrance, and you belong to it.

Day Two: The Listening Field

On the second day, you begin to hear more — not just sound, but signal. The voice of your body. The language of the horses. The stillness between branches. The presence of the sky.

This is the day of clarity through subtlety — a field of coherence.

✦ Morning | Elemental Attunement

  • Gentle movement and sky-gazing breathwork beneath cedar boughs

  • Hands-on resonance practice with stone, bark, and water

  • A drop of flower essence — yarrow, red clover, or Indian paintbrush — opens perception and deepens attunement

✦ Brunch | Sweet Vitality

  • Spiced quinoa porridge with cardamom, coconut, and dates

  • Warm apples with cinnamon and clove

  • Triphala tea for digestive integration

  • Optional bitters (dandelion or gentian) before the meal

✦ Midday | Horse Reflection & Integration

  • Quiet time in the presence of the herd — no agenda, only co-regulation

  • Guided "mutual mirroring": somatic posturing, breath exchange, and field-based presence

  • Creative reflection: journaling, sketching, or simply listening

✦ Afternoon | Sound + Silence

  • Participants rest under the trees for a crystal bowl and vocal toning session

  • Group vocal weaving may emerge or be replaced with restorative stillness

  • Optional herbal foot soak or cold creek rinse to finalize the somatic process

✦ Closing Ritual | The Listening Stone

  • Final integration circle at the Listening Stone

  • Participants may leave a feather, a prayer, or a piece of the story they no longer need to carry

  • Receive a takeaway bundle with herbal tea, tincture, a small earth offering, and a hand-written note from the sanctuary team

Why This Matters

This experience is not a retreat — it is a relational reweaving. The Listening Sky is not here to entertain, but to entrain participants to the deeper rhythm of their own bodies, instincts, and soul signals. This first level of sanctuary programming serves as the foundation for all future development: trauma recovery, spiritual reorientation, deep ecology work, and more advanced equine-somatic immersion.

Pond & Pines

2 |EMBODIMENT :
Tending the Field
A sample 2-day immersion for cultivating relational presence, embodied trust, and energetic clarity

DAY ONE – Listening Beneath the Surface

Morning

  • Arrival + Opening Circle
As you arrive, the air already carries something different—quieter, thicker with listening. Tea is offered, warm and herbal. You settle into a circle among trees that have seen many beginnings. There is no rush, no performance. Just the invitation to land inside your own body and begin to tend what is ready.

  • Elemental Movement: Nature Yoga

  • A slow unfolding into the body—moving as water moves, as wind whispers, as stone holds. This is not about posture. It is about remembering that you are nature, too.

  • Field Observation: The Language of the Herd
You are guided to the edge of the field to simply watch. The horses roam, rest, interact without agenda. You begin to see things not taught in books—energy, hierarchy, softness, sovereignty. You begin to feel things you forgot you knew.

  • Silent Journaling + Rest Under Trees
There is a moment where even your thoughts grow quiet. You journal. Or you don’t. Maybe you lie in the grass, eyes open to the filtered sky, and let the field speak back to you.

Midday

  • Lunch: Seasonal, Digestive-Supportive Meal
A warm bowl of turmeric kitchari, slow-roasted root vegetables, bright greens, and cooling mint tea. The meal is grounding, light on the liver, easy on the heart.

  • Integration Time
You are invited into a pause. No plans, no instruction. Just rest. Hammock, walk, nap beneath a madrone—whatever your body craves. This, too, is part of the work.

Afternoon

  • Energy of Communication Practice
In the arena, you begin to explore how your presence is received. The horses show you what words cannot. You play with invitation, boundary, clarity. You begin to sense the difference between doing and being.

  • Human-to-Human Partner Practice
Through a slow walk or shifting gaze, you explore how you show up in relationship. Where do you lead? Where do you yield? You begin to notice the invisible threads that shape how you move in the world.

  • Group Reflection + Close of Day
As shadows lengthen, you gather to speak—if you wish. Or just to listen. There is no pressure to explain, only the space to notice what is becoming more true.

Evening (Optional)

  • Firelight Integration + Sound Ceremony
As twilight falls, a small fire is lit. You gather near it, bowls may sing, drums may hum, or silence may wrap around you. The stars begin to appear—first one, then many. You feel how much is happening in the unseen. You drink warm broth or golden milk. You rest in a kind of magic that needs no name.

DAY TWO – Embodying the Inner Voice

Morning

  • Arrival + Somatic Check-In
The morning light is softer today. Something has shifted—inside and out. You’re guided into a simple practice of sensing: Where is my energy? What wants to be met?

  • Round Pen Inquiry
One by one, participants step into a sacred container: you, a horse, and a question. There are no performances here—only presence. The horse becomes a mirror, showing what words cannot. You’re not alone; others witness you in quiet respect.

  • Debrief + Reflective Circle
Sometimes what is revealed needs only to be held. You are invited to share or simply to be witnessed. There is space here for your process to be your own.

Midday

  • Lunch: Light, Nourishing Meal
Mung dal with steamed greens, citrus-dressed slaw, and herbal tea. A quiet meal. There’s less chatter now. You notice your senses are sharper, your movements more deliberate.

  • Solo Integration Time
This is for the soul. You walk to the creek. You lie in the pine needles. You write, or cry, or laugh softly alone. The land holds you in stillness. You realize this is part of your leadership too—learning how to follow your own rhythm.

Afternoon

  • Leading in Hand: Embodied Leadership Practice
You and a horse move together in simple steps. Not training. Not tasking. Just the felt sense of walking beside another being, with clarity, with respect. You practice how to direct without domination, how to invite without losing your center.

  • Small Group Coaching + Witnessing
As you lead, others watch. As others lead, you witness. Something happens in the seeing. You begin to recognize patterns—not to judge them, but to understand how you’ve survived and how you’re changing.

  • Declaration Walk
Your closing ritual. You choose a word, a phrase, a vow. You walk beside a horse, holding this declaration like a lantern in your chest. You don’t speak it aloud—but the horse knows. The land knows. The field receives it.

  • Final Circle + Integration Guidance
You return to the circle one last time. You’re given words to take with you—or not. You’re given silence. You’re given space. What has shifted lives in your body now. You know how to listen. You know how to tend.

Beneath the Listening Sky
A sanctuary journey for remembering your way

A 3-Day Immersive Journey

An intimate convergence of equine-guided presence, elemental healing, and soul-designed integration

Day 1: Returning to the Field

As in Level 1, this day brings you into your body, into the land, and into relational stillness with the herd. Practices include:

  • Nature-led somatic movement (wind, water, weight)

  • Herd observation and field sensing

  • Sound healing under the trees

  • Medicine trail wandering and earth attunement

  • Slow, seasonal meals and intentional rest

This day opens the nervous system to regulation and re-sensitizes the body to felt presence. Trauma survivors often find this pace to be the first true “exhale” in years.

Day 2: Energetics and Embodied Influence

Building on Level 2, this day invites you to explore how your presence, boundaries, and energetic tone affect the relational field. Practices may include:

  • Round pen inquiry with a single horse

  • Human-to-human energy work and mirroring

  • Leadership and followership through simple equine movement

  • Group witnessing and reflection

  • Firelight integration under the stars

Participants often uncover hidden patterns, clarify internal declarations, and begin to feel what it means to lead from the body—not the mind.

Day 3: The Path and the Trail

This is the day you design.

The morning opens with The Path and the Trail Walk with Horses—a sacred walk through the Medicine Trail, guided by both human and equine companions. The route moves through pine forest, under madrone arches, past a creek and soft mossy bends. You walk in silence or dialogue, depending on your needs. The trail reflects what’s ready to be seen.

The afternoon is yours. Each participant receives a private sessions of their own design:

Options include:

  • Somatic Therapy or Depth Psychology
1:1 time with a licensed MFT, held in the forest for integration and insight

  • Jyotir Vedic Astrology Reading
Timed with planetary intelligence to offer soul perspective and karmic context

  • Mindful Meditation or Qi Gong Instruction
Gentle yet potent practices for rooting, centering, and energetic hygiene

  • Ayurvedic Healing & Conscious Cooking
Learn to align food and herbs with your dosha, season, and emotional state

  • Medicinal Plant Wisdom & Wildcrafting
Introduction to the herbs on the land and how to work with them as allies

  • Carried to the Waters                                                                                   A guided horseback trail ride to the Yuba River

  • Stillness and Touch                                                                                        A therapeutic bodywork session held outdoors, beneath the trees

  • Painting In the Pines

Guided and freestyle expressions with acrylic or watercolor paints.

Meals, Space, and Holding

  • Meals are fresh, intentional, and lymphatic-supportive

  • Time is structured around inner rhythm, not clocks

  • Private outdoor cabins or designated rest zones available for solitude

  • The fire and stars will be part of each night’s integration for those who wish to gather
